The NSW Local
Government Community Services Association was formed almost 30 years ago to
represent the interests of community and human serves staff employed in local
councils.
Running on a
shoe-string budget, and with lots of volunteer involvement from its members, the
Association has position itself as an influential voice in, and for, local
government community services.
We find that working
in local government community services can be both rewarding and a challenging
experience.
Rewarding – in that
we get to deliver exceptional quality services and outcomes that make real
differences in their community.
Challenging
– in that to achieve those outcomes we often are required to meet multiple
community, organisation and statutory needs / requirements whilst working with
limited budgets and in often unsupportive environments.
