Siblings Australia is a unique national organisation committed to enhancing
the wellbeing of the siblings of children with disabilities and chronic illness.
Growing up with siblings who have special needs creates enormous pressures
that can go unnoticed by parents, friends and support services. This can make
children feel isolated, guilty, angry and confused, and leave them vulnerable to
a range of emotional and health problems, which can continue into adulthood.
Siblings Australia aims to give siblings a voice and the knowledge that they
are not alone; to give their families and supporters a better idea of how they
can help; and to raise the issue of sibling needs wherever and whenever we
can.
It is our mission to assist siblings to become acknowledged, connected and
more resilient.
