National Arts and Disability Strategy Working Group
Commonwealth Government

National Arts and Disability StrategyThe Council Minister’s Council (CMC) brings together arts and cultural ministers from Australia and New Zealand.  The CMC agreed to develop a National Arts and Disabililty Strategy which is about giving people with a disability a greater voice in the develoment of arts policy and practices.

The group is gathering information on activities across jurisdictions which aim to increase access and participation in the arts for people with a disability. It is identifying shared priorities and opportunities for cross-jurisdictional collaboration on arts and disability issues.

The group will develop a principles-based National Arts and Disability Strategy to improve coordination and collaboration across governments to ensure that all Australians with a disability are given the opportunity to engage fully in the arts and cultural activity.
