Stop the Cuts to ATLAS
The NSW Government has recently announced drastic changes to ATLAS funding which threatens to reduce services.
- Funding cut by an estimated $9million per year.
- Reduced staffing and less access to quality services.
- Disability service workers facing job losses & increased Occupational Health and Safety risks.
The Union supports industry calls for an immediate moratorium on the implementation of the changes and seeks that a thorough consultation process be undertaken to ensure that future PSO/ATLAS reform initiatives improve not lessen the quality of such services.
The Union is committed to working for better quality training and support services for people with a disability to meaningfully participate in the community. This can't be achieved by slashing funding and reducing staffing levels.
