Title:CONFERENCE & OPEN DAY - Let’s talk: Sex and Reproduction

Description:

We held our inaugural FPNSW Conference and Open Day in August 2007. The response from the delegates was overwhelmingly positive and 100% said that they would recommend the event to their colleagues! This is an educational and networking opportunity for general practitioners, nurses and health workers. It is designed to promote learning and stimulate thinking with plenary sessions featuring expert speakers in the morning and interactive workshops in the afternoon.

‘Let’s talk: Sex and Reproduction’

Lecture topics include:

  • Ethics and Politics in Reproductive Health - Professor Caroline de Costa
  • The Empowered Communicator - Professor Diana Slade
  • Hereditary Cancer Genetics - who, when and how to test
  • IVF: Options to preserve fertility and more
  • STIs: The symptomatic patient with negative tests
  • Contraception: What's hot and what's not

Concurrent workshops in the afternoon include:

  • Implanon Insertion (Doctors only)
  • Vulval Biopsy (Doctors only)
  • Talking to Teens about Sex
  • Sex Aids, Sexuality

Participants will have the opportunity to inspect different aspects of the organisation's activities including the clinical, educational, research, health promotion, library and bookshop.
