Arts Access SA began life as Arts in Action, emerging from its umbrella organisation, the Recreation Association for People with Disabilities SA (RADSA), in 1986. Arts in Action developed through a lack of opportunities for people with a disability to participate in South Australia’s arts and cultural life. In 1989 Arts in Action became an incorporated association, with a charter to create and extend arts opportunities to all people with disabilities throughout the state.
