Adaptive Technology refers to any product or software program that has been developed or modified to make it accessible for the blind and vision impaired. This category of equipment is generally so specialised that it is not available from mainstream retail outlets. It could include something as simple as a talking calculator through to an ultra sophisticated Braille terminal with refreshable Braille cells. In short, any mechanical, electrical or computerised product specifically designed for a vision impaired person.

COMPIC is an effective communication resource created and developed in Australia. It does not rely on reading the written word, hearing a word nor speaking a word.
